WHERE TO STAY

I NEED A BED AND A SHOWER!

We don't have anywhere special to recommend.  Dillard and Clayton Ga, as well as Franklin and Highlands, NC, have some great options so hop online and check em out!

GIVE ME CHEAP AND WOODSY!

The national forest has campsites all along 7 and 696, and I encourage you to check them out. 696 is a bit rough, so I recommend 4x4/high clearance for going down this one. There is a camping area near the Three Forks trailhead, but it's a popular one and might be occupied. If you camp in a site nearer to the start/finish along USFS 7 or down 696, please stay parked there and walk to check-in. Remember that these are primitive sites, and Leave No Trace philosophies should be practiced.

More sophisticated camping is at Black Rock Mountain State Park (GA's highest state park!!) and River Vista RV park. Call them for availability.

I highly encourage camping at the Start/Finish area at the intersection of USFS 7 and 696, but you'll have to break camp and be moved by around 5am since we use this space for check-in, aid station pick-up, and finish line fare.
